No one can tell you how much I love the style and approach of this lady. She’s my inspiration. My top 3 artists of all time. She is making more impressions than I’m sure she ever imagined and this is why:

The other night I had the pleasure of seeing her live at the Somerset House series concerts. A moment i’ll never forget. I can’t express how her music has changed me. I don’t think I want to. All i know is when I hear, see or read things about her I’m left feeling like everything is as it’s meant to be. Things happen for a reason and life goes on…

I’m so proud of her achievements and hope that she is awarded the Mercury Prize this year.

Here’s what she had to say:

“I’m really pleased to be nominated with this record. ‘The Sea’ is an album I wrote alone and co-produced, it was all on my shoulders. It has been great for me to be touring the world with this album, seeing a positive reaction to it and getting recognition from the Mercury Prize team means a lot to me.”

The overall winner of the Mercury Music Prize will be announced on Tuesday 7th September.

WOOOOOW! We did it! In record time (a personal best – as it was our first time – ha) 1hr33. What an amazing experience. 25,000 people all running? Madness.

They said to be fully hydrated – so I drank lots of water….but two mins before the start I was dying for the toilet and had to run to the nearest hotel…After I recovered we ran back and the rest was history. I enjoyed it so much and highly recommend you get your running shoes on and join me next year!

I have decided to support this charity for life and will learn as much as possible to teach people about Alzheimers.

Love Szjerdene

So I got a call from Eric who was pretty excited about this new project. He told me he wanted me to be involved in it and I thought my ears were deceiving me. I was over the moon to be included in the line up to what I considered to be full of stars. Hearing the names listed of the artists that were going to take part in the recording blew me away:Rahel (Vocals) | Fatima (Vocals) | Sarina Leah (Vocals) | Ben Jones (Guitar) | Akwasi Mensa (Bass, Piano) | Finn Peters (Flute) | Pauli Stan Mck (Drums) | Floating Points (Synths).

…and there I was…little me about to contribute to such a beautiful and mammoth project.

I loved every second of it. I can say that this was the most enlightening musical gift I have experienced this year. Not only was I able to watch professionals at work, I was able to do what I do best – sing my heart out. It was a loooooooong day but like a child in a sweet shop I was in awe and in my element. I’m so pleased of the outcome as I know Eric had high hopes for this record. It is beautiful and so is his heart and I’m so glad to have been a part of this gift to you all.

Imprinted in my life. I’m ready to go.

For many who know me…you realise i’m not a runner. I’ve actually only started jogging since signing myself up for this. But i’m 21, I’m healthy I lead an amazingly crazy life and I have the ability right now to help others who are less fortunate than me.

Anyway you dont have to give much but it would be amazing if you could give something! Not just for me but for people suffering from Alzhiemer’s. I was put on this earth to make a difference and this is my first major contribution other than music.

Who knows I may even run the marathon in a few years…( I said may).

Szjer

I’m so grateful for all the familiar faces (and there were TONS) as well as people coming to support for the first time. The energy from the audience was amazing and my first two songs were already finished before I knew it and then I done an acoustic version of Georgia. I don’t feel that I have ever given a performance so much of myself. I feel this was the most genuine rendition I have ever sung and I felt overwhelming amounts of passion and energy throughout the song. The audience response blew me away and I believe that they felt it was a believable performance.

I was so proud to be an artist, writer and performer and will remember this night for the rest of my life. The gig was monumental and the standard of performance on the night was ridiculously high for many of the acts. As I close this chapter in my life after studying for three years I can say that it was well worth the final 20 minutes we had on stage.
