// Biggest Inspiration of 2009

 2009 couldn’t have passed without me writing a bit about a group that has literally transformed my approach to music this year! Not only vocally but lyrically and musically I have become so much more aware of style and space in relation to composition. A friend of mine first introduced me to the bands sound early on this year and I was amazed that not many people knew about them and so I made it my mission to preach from the high hills of hackney and beyond. I can honestly say the first album was MAGIC and that I prefer it to the second however songs like “Feather” and “Fortune” [Machine Dreams] are classics.

 

I find that most of the time I’m drawn to one of two tracks in particular of most albums that I can connect with. So without scaring you off with my heartfelt writings I’ll leave you with an utter masterpiece. I think this song is beautiful and inspirational and so subtly powerful its MAD. If you haven’t heard them before then i proudly introduce to you Little Dragon.

    Completely agree. Yukimi has brought back the beauty and effectiveness of understated vocals and her cryptic lyrics and the innovative production has added a completely new face to soul music. Little Dragon made my 2009 too…
